Synopsis

Popularly known as the 'City of djinns', complex of Kotla Feroz Shah standing next to the famous cricket stadium of Delhi, was a capital city built by Feroz Shah Tughlaq of 14th Century. Lying in a ruined state, this complex does not have many monuments, but every monument has its own mystery and wonder attached to it. Come and explore a lesser know fort of Delhi.

Travel back in time to the age of the Tughlaqs when Delhi was called Ferozabad. I will take you on a tour of Ferozeshah's palace that still retains its old grandeur, unperturbed by the vagaries of time. We will also visit the Khooni Darwaza, which is one of the 13 surviving gates in Delhi. This is the place where three princes of Mughal dynasty were shot by the British.

We will meet at the entrance of the fort, and then we will proceed straight to the interiors where we will learn about the history of the place. First we will see the Ashokan era stone Pillar, then the various cells beneath the building and the Baoli. i went for two walks organised by gointhecity...the red fort- up close and personal with the mughals and ferozshah the city of non djinns... both the walks were a delight. i have been living in delhi for 15 years but these walks made me realise the cultural and the historical depth of our capital. gaurav conducted our walks with such passion and interest that time literally flew.. both the walks lasted god 3-4 hours and there was not a second we got bored or even looked at the time. he is extremely knowledgeable and friendly...he answered all our questions with utmost patience..kudos to gointhecity and gaurav... looking forward to attending more and more of such delhi walks... highly recommend it to others too.. you will start looking at delhi with a new perspective!!!
